Computational Hypotheses Space for Geospatial Data (CHS)
A critical shortfall in current automated geographic information systems is their inability to automatically resolve inconsistent evidence from diverse sources. Today, analysts must manually query and integrate evidence from a wide range of data products and other sources in order to reason about spatial features.
IET is addressing this shortfall with an SBIR sponsored by the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) that leverages existing IET technology to build a computational hypothesis space that provides capabilities for advanced reasoning about features distributed in time and space based on diverse sources of information. The result is a revolutionary advance in database concepts that will allow intelligence analysts to provide responsive support to military operations.
